It’s been a while since my last update (not since A-Yokai-A-Day ended on Halloween, in fact). Since then I’ve been continuing to work on yokai.com via my Patreon project, so you can see all of the new yokai posted since then on both of those websites.
The biggest question I am asked these days is “When will The Book of the Hakutaku be released?” If you’ve been following the Kickstarter page, you may already know, but I don’t have an answer just yet. There was a problem with the printing, and that set us back about 8 weeks because the printing had to be redone and re-shipped to me.
The new prints are on their way to me now and I hope they will arrive soon. As you can imagine, it’s not been a fun problem to deal with! But I am glad that things have been sorted out and the delivery schedule will be resuming shortly. In the meantime, I can’t give a release date for the book. However, I am currently expecting to send the books to the distribution center in January, which would probably put them in backers’ hands in February (providing no other delays occur).
Once the Kickstarter and pre-order backers have their copies, I will be releasing the book on Amazon.com. Even though the book is finished, it wouldn’t be fair to the backers if others can order their copies while they are still waiting for theirs. I’ll post on social media and my blog when I have more information in regards to the release date.
Thanks to all for reading my blog and supporting my artwork in 2018. It’s been a busy year, but a good one. More exciting things will come in 2019. Until then, everyone have a safe and happy holiday season!
