Summer has come and gone, faster than I could have imagined! But I’m happy because now it is fall, my favorite time of year. And for me, one of the biggest fall events that I look forward to is A-Yokai-A-Day!

In less than a month, A-Yokai-A-Day will return for 2013, with 30 brand new yokai never before featured on this site. They’ll also be appearing on yokai.com, my brand new online illustrated database of yokai, yurei, and strange phenomena from Japanese folklore!

Finally, what’s I’m most excited about is that along with A-Yokai-A-Day, I will be launching a second Kickstarter project to raise funds to produce a second book! I launched my first Kickstarter in August of 2011, and the result was The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons. This second Kickstarter will work essentially the same way, and I will be producing another book with over 100 new yokai from Japanese folklore, fully illustrated in color!

２０１３年のA-Yokai-A-Dayは、これまでにまだ紹介していない３０種類の新しい妖怪を毎日描いていく予定です。この妖怪たちはこのウェブサイトにポストしますが、もう一つ私の新しい妖怪画データーベースサイトyokai.comでも掲載していきます。

A-Yokai-A-Dayの他にもう一つとても楽しみなお知らせがあります！私は再びKickstarterプロジェクトスタートさせる準備を進めています！前回のKickstarterは２０１１年の秋にスタートさせました。多くの方々に賛同いただき、初めての妖怪イラストレーション本「百鬼夜行：The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons 」を出版することができました。

今回のプロジェクトでもおよそ１００を超える妖怪たちを描き、本を出版したいと考えています。

第２弾の本の内容についてなどはまた追々お知らせしていきたいと思っていますのでまた随時チェックしてみてください！
